On your doorstep

Our nurseries

Our five sites in Hertfordshire, Essex and Berkshire are all less than an hour from central London – in the countryside but still right on your doorstep. That’s how we keep our promise of getting our produce to you while it’s still beautifully fresh. And it’s how you can be sure of local provenance and low food miles.

On board – but still fresh and cool
We want you to rely on us – so we don’t rely on anyone else for our transportation. We run our own fleet of temperature-controlled vehicles to keep your produce fresh and cool during its short journey to you.

Our accreditations

  • All our UK sites are accredited by the Red Tractor Farm Assurance Fresh Produce scheme (formerly AP)
  • Our three UK sites with organic areas – Nazeing, Waltham Abbey and Smallford – are accredited by the Soil Association
  • Our pack house and some of the growing areas at our Smallford site are accredited by the British Retail Consortium

Available all year round
During the UK growing season, all our produce is grown and supplied 100% from our own UK sites. So what happens between October and March? Well, that’s when we switch to our nurseries in Spain – Almeria and Andalusia. Run with our partners, and accredited to EurepGAP and CAAE, they grow in exactly the same ways as we do in the UK. Even we can’t deliver from southern Spain in 24 hours. But with our own transport it’s typically three days – and that’s still pretty quick.
